University Lighting Energy Savings

Iona College

715 North Ave
New Rochelle, NY 10801

Project Description
With more than 3,500 students across its multiple campuses and the majority located at its main New Rochelle, NY, facility, Iona College’s operating expenses are continually pushed by the demands of students and faculty. The lighting systems at the New Rochelle campus consisted of antiquated T12 lamps and manual controls that represented a significant burden on the organization’s bottom line. GreenLight came in to fix the problem.
GreenLight installed state-of-the art lamps, occupancy sensor lighting controls, and LED exterior lighting throughout the campus. In addition to lowering the facilities’ energy bills, the burden on the maintenance staff was also reduced because the new lamps last longer. GreenLight secured a rebate for Iona College that paid for the majority of the project cost and enabled them to realize a return on investment in less than 1 year.
